Garcinia Cambogia Buyer's Guide
Does it really work? Which one is best? Read on to find the answers to all your questions

February 2, 2014- A few months ago, popular TV personality Dr. Oz introduced Garcinia Cambogia as the next breakthrough in weight loss, setting off a flood of people looking to get in on the newest fat-burning craze.

As a result, we received scores of emails from consumers wanting to know if Garcinia Cambogia really worked, which product was best, etc. In order to help you make the best decision, we put together a "buyer's guide" for Garcinia Cambogia below.

Read on to find the answers to all your top questions about Garcinia Cambogia.

Does it work? There's a lot of scientific evidence that points to "yes." In one 12 week Japanese study, every single person (18 in all) that was given Garcinia Cambogia experienced weight loss the researchers deemed "significant," versus none for the placebo group. [Link to study].

Are all Garcinia Cambogia supplements the same? No. The active ingredient that causes weight loss is called hydroxycitric acid (HCA), and the amount of HCA in each product can vary widely. Look for one that has at least 50% HCA, but preferably more.

how garcinia cambogia works

How much should I expect to pay? The good news is, Garcinia Cambogia is a lot cheaper than many similar (and less effective) fat-loss products. As with anything, however, you'll get what you pay for. Watch out for bargain-basement prices; this indicates low levels of HCA and a worthless product. Typically, expect to pay anywhere from $30-50 per bottle.

How does it work? Garcinia Cambogia uses a 2 part process. First, it acts as a powerful appetite suppressant, preventing binge eating and keeping your calorie intake low. Second, it blocks the enzymes that are responsible for fat storage, so your body "sheds" fat naturally. [Link to study].

Which product is best? There are dozens of products out there right now. We investigated 23 of the top-selling products, looking for effectiveness (based on HCA levels, customer testimonials, and limited product trials), company reputation, and value. The top 3 products are below.

Our Top Picks

Whole Body Research Garcinia Cambogia

#1: Whole Body Garcinia Cambogia

If you’re interested in trying a Garcinia Cambogia supplement, then this is the one for you.

Out of everything we looked at, Whole Body Research was the highest quality supplement and the only one we can safely recommend you purchase.

They use the exact recommended dosage for maximum results with 60% HCA extract and potassium. They don’t use fillers, binders, or synthetics, and use only veggie capsules. And, unlike other products, they are not a fly-by-night company and don't use any billing schemes
- which is quite common in with any type of supplement mentioned on The Dr. Oz show.

The reputation of the brand - Whole Body Research is top notch. If you are looking for a legitimate source for all your supplement needs, then this is a good place to start.

The only downside of Whole Body Research is they frequently sell out.

Genisis Garcinia Cambogia

#2: Genesis Today

Genesis Today Garcinia Cambogia Review

Another Garcinia Cambogia supplement we liked was Genesis Today’s Garcinia Cambogia. They don’t use fillers, synthetics, or binders, so that’s a good thing.

But they don’t have the complete package. Rather than just HCA and potassium, they have a few other ingredients that water down their supplement a bit.

They also only offer 800mg of the supplement, meaning their 30-day supply is really more like a 15-day supply if you actually want to get the recommended dosage.

Vitamin Shop Garcinia Cambogia

#3: Vitamin Shoppe

Vitamin Shoppe Garcinia Cambogia Review

Sometimes we like what Vitamin Shoppe offers, and sometimes we don’t. Sadly, this was the case with their Garcinia Cambogia.

While the price is right on this product at around $10, there’s a reason for it. Their Garcinia Cambogia blend is loaded with fillers and comes in a dosage much less than what we like to see.

As a result we couldn’t endorse this product of theirs. And that’s too bad, because we do like some of the other products they make. There just wasn’t enough HCA or potassium, and far too many binders and fillers for us to fully endorse this product.
