Vitamin Shoppe Review

Good

Here’s a Garcinia Cambogia supplement from a popular supplier. While it isn’t all bad, Vitamin Shoppe’s supplement did leave us wanting for more. Especially because we so often like some of the other products they offer.

EFFECTIVENESS

As we’ve mentioned, we normally like the Vitamin Shoppe, but I’m not really sure what they were thinking with this supplement. It does contain 60% HCA extract, which is good. But the dosage is 1,000mg, which is too little to prove as effective as the Garcinia Cambogia used in studies, and too much to double up on dosage.
In addition, they don’t use potassium as their absorption agent, but something called Chromium (As Amino Acid Chelate). In addition to this, they use a lot of binders and fillers, which we never like seeing.
As a result, we have a hard time fully endorsing the effectiveness of this supplement. Sure, it’s going to work, but there are better options for you on the market.

SAFETY

Vitamin Shoppe’s Garcinia Cambogia--like most Garcinia Cambogia supplements--is safe to take in the recommended dosage. Pregnant and nursing women, and anyone concerned about a complication should first consult their physician.
As mentioned above, this supplement does have some interesting ingredients, but none of them should be particularly harmful. They just water down the supplement, meaning you may not see the results you want as quickly as you’d like.

COST

Vitamin Shoppe’s Garcinia Cambogia costs about the same as most of the other supplements we tested--especially when you remember the dosage is pretty low. Once you factor in the extra capsules you’ll have to swallow to get to 1,500mg, the cost is right on par.
However, the few dollars you may save by going with Vitamin Shoppe would be better spent on a supplement that doesn’t use fillers and comes in at 1,500mg.

SUMMARY

I like the Vitamin Shoppe, and that’s part of the reason this supplement came in third, but you’ll really be better off with one of the other supplements on our list. This one is good, but not great, and when you need to lose weight, do you really want to take any chances?
